I want a definite answer, once I open this package I won't be able to return it. Many say that the RAM will adjust & others have said they can't boot their mac properly.

Any help on getting it to 8GB Edit: I figured out only one of the 4GB sticks work in the 1/4 configuration. I have a MacBook pro 15 inch mid-2010 i5 2,4 Ghz, which I already have upgraded to 8GB of RAM. When I put in one of the original 1GB sticks and a 4GB stick, it worked. I looked on the online manual and it said I could only upgrade it to 4GB but I was hoping to upgrade it further. It has 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo and 2GB (1067 MHz DDR3) of RAM. And with LR now using GPU for offloading some of the tasks when processing, the system will need to transfer data to the GPU memory and back again. I am looking to upgrade the RAM on my Mid-2010 white MacBook. I would definitely get at least 8gb in any new system.
My Win 7 machine is currently using 3.5GB of ram.
